Large scale events: when your Maison opens its doors to the public
Some days, a Maison opens its doors to everyone who admires it from afar: a public weekend, an exhibition in town, an installation for a few days. For large scale events, you decide with your studio what the visitor should discover, and Luxury by the Lake takes care of everything that lets you welcome them, from feasibility study to strike, in Geneva, Paris, Dubai and wherever your Maison chooses to appear. Behind us stand two partners: Pelichet Expositions in Geneva, and a production studio in Paris.

Public event management: what we handle
A large audience needs the same care as a dinner for twenty, with more constraints around it. We bring every trade together under one project lead:
- the venue: scouting with you, capacity, access, exits, build and strike hours
- permits: applications to the city authorities, security, insurance
- visitor flow: ticketing or registration when you plan one, queues, the route through the space, cloakroom, signage
- staging and technical: structures, sound, light, video, audiovisual integration
- the set: built to your studio's drawings, or with scenographers and set dressers from our network
- the welcome: welcome staff, protocol for your own guests, coordination of every supplier
- on-site management: running the event in real time, from the first visitor to the last truck
Screens, projection and sound are drawn with the set from the first plan. Visitors find their way without searching, and leave with a memory of your Maison.
When everything is right, the eye goes straight to the object.
Formats open to the public
An event open to the public takes several shapes:
- The open exhibition, where a craft exhibition welcomes visitors, with guides, workshop gestures and collection pieces; our exhibition production company page covers it.
- The high point of a major fair, when your Maison welcomes the public in town during the week: Watches and Wonders opens to the public from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 April 2027, and its "In The City" programme runs from Palexpo to the centre of Geneva.
- The installation in town, on a square, on a façade or in a borrowed venue, for a few days.
The same operation can keep a moment for your clients and the press before the public arrives: see our brand experience agency page.
Permits and security, city by city
In Paris, an event that uses the street or dresses a façade needs the consent of the City of Paris and the Préfecture de police, with the application filed at least a month ahead. Our Paris team prepares it with you; see our event production studio in Paris page.
In Dubai, the Department of Economy and Tourism issues permits for public, commercial and ticketed events, according to the format and the venue. From November to March, the event can take place outdoors; in July and August, temperatures often pass 40 °C and the welcome moves indoors. See our corporate events Dubai page.
In Geneva, our crews and warehouses are on hand, and Pelichet Expositions, through its subsidiary ExpoLog Geneva, is the official and exclusive logistics provider of Palexpo, where Watches and Wonders is held. See our luxury event planner Geneva page.
Our standards, from brief to debrief
- Brief: what the public should experience, and how many visitors you expect. We listen, then play it back to you in our own words.
- Feasibility and costing: site visits, technical plan, security plan, itemised budget with a CSR section.
- Preparation and delivery: suppliers, permits, build, rehearsal, on-site management through the opening.
- Wrap-up: budget closed, feedback gathered, archives handed to the Maison.
An event open to the public usually calls for the full team: project, creative, production and operations, each with its lead, and one voice for the Maison. We flag what needs deciding while there is still time. Our Luxury by the Lake page introduces the team.
A responsible public event
Responsibility is settled at the design, costing and scheduling stage, and we apply the principles of ISO 20121. We hire rather than build, and store sets designed for several lives with Pelichet Expositions. LED lighting runs on the venue's grid power in place of generators.
On site, we sort waste and give away materials and furniture that can be reused. We plan realistic build times with local, stable crews. Each event closes with a CSR report built on your Maison's indicators.
What remains of a project, once the set comes down, is the quality of the human adventure.
Frequently asked questions
How far ahead should we plan a public event?
It depends first on permits, the venue and the build. In Paris, the application for an event on the street goes in at least a month ahead. We fix the schedule at the feasibility stage and tell you which applications to start first.
Who applies for the permits?
We prepare the applications with you and follow them through: the City of Paris and the Préfecture de police in Paris, the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, the city authorities elsewhere. Security, insurance and the welcome plan form part of the file.
Can you manage queues and ticketing?
Yes. We draw the visitor flow on the venue plan: entrance, route, cloakroom, exits. When your Maison plans ticketing or registration, we build it into the schedule and the welcome.
How do you protect pieces shown to the public?
Pelichet Expositions transports and stores them, and we arrange their insurance. Every move happens under a joint inventory and supervision, and the security of the pieces sits in the technical plan alongside light and sound.
Can we keep a moment for clients before the public arrives?
Yes. An evening or a morning for your clients and the press can come before the opening, in the same set, with its own welcome. Our gala dinner planner page covers seated evenings.
Who keeps the photographs and films?
Your Maison. We can arrange photography and filming, and no image of the build leaves without your written consent. At the end of the project, we hand over the archives and return or destroy our working documents.
