Luxury event management, from brief to wrap-up
With executive production, your studio draws the scenography and your communications team sets the guest list. We build what the drawings describe and run it on the day: site visit, technical plan, itemised budget, suppliers, permits, build and show control, then a wrap-up with the budget closed and the archives handed back to you.
A Maison that prefers to hand over the whole project, creative included, can do so. We then bring in art directors, scenographers and set dressers from our network and place them under a single project lead. A third route suits Maisons whose pieces travel: sensitive objects, sets and display cases stored in Geneva between seasons, crews sent on tour, and a set ready for the next opening.
You choose the entry point for each project, and you can change it from one season to the next.
Executive production is our way in: you judge us on the work, and we earn your trust from there.
A Geneva house and a Paris team, working as one
Luxury by the Lake is a joint venture between Pelichet Expositions in Geneva and a production team based in Paris. Pelichet is a Geneva house founded in 1891, which handled the move of the League of Nations in 1936. Heir to the Pelichet know-how, Pelichet Expositions has been at work for close to twenty years and, through its subsidiary ExpoLog Geneva, is the official logistics provider of Palexpo, where Watches and Wonders is held.
You speak to one person, who holds the project, the budget and the planning, and who calls on warehouses and crews in Geneva, production teams in Paris and the suppliers each project needs. You can read more about Luxury by the Lake and the two partners behind it.
The formats Maisons call on us for
We size each format around the object and the guest.
- Product and collection launches: a new watch, a high jewellery set or a fragrance, shown to the press in the morning and to clients in the evening. Our product launch event page goes through the steps.
- Gala dinners and client evenings, from a private salon to a ballroom, described on our gala dinner planner page.
- Pop-up stores and boutique openings, with the set built, installed and struck on schedule.
- Window displays, installations and temporary scenography, built to the letter of your studio's drawings.
- Exhibitions of savoir-faire, shown once, sent on tour, or adapted to a local venue.
- Activations and events around Watches and Wonders: stands, evenings, hospitality, press and client set-ups.
- Reward trips through our incentive travel page, and seminars and company evenings through our corporate event production studio page.
Geneva, Paris, Dubai, and the resorts in season
Geneva is home. Our warehouses and crews are there, and so is the watch calendar, from Watches and Wonders in spring to the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève in the autumn: our luxury event planner Geneva page covers venues and timing.
Paris has its own production team, as our event production studio in Paris page explains. In the Gulf, our corporate events Dubai page covers gala dinners, launches and the Dubai Watch Week calendar. In winter, Maisons follow their clients to Gstaad, St Moritz and Crans-Montana, and we take the sets up the mountain with them.
Our standards, from brief to debrief
- Brief: we listen, ask our questions and send back our understanding of the project in writing.
- Feasibility and costing: site visit, technical plan, itemised budget.
- Preparation and delivery: suppliers, permits, build, show control.
- Wrap-up: budget closed, feedback gathered, archives handed to the Maison.
The team follows the size of the project. For a large one, you work with a full team: project, creative, production and operations, each with its own lead, and one voice for the Maison. For a more contained event, a single lead holds project, production and technical, with fewer roles, quicker decisions and more of the budget on the object and the guest.
Confidentiality and responsibility
We sign a non-disclosure agreement before anyone on our side sees the project. Images of a build or an event leave our hands only with your written consent.
Pieces travel under supervision, with joint inventories, and stay in locked premises; at the end of the mission we return the documents to you or destroy them. The work we produce for a Maison belongs to the Maison, which decides in writing what may be shown or said. Our references therefore name a sector, a city, a format and a guest count, and leave the Maison unnamed.
We apply the principles of ISO 20121 project by project: sets designed for several lives and stored in Geneva between seasons, artisans from Geneva and French-speaking Switzerland first, the train for crews and the plane as a last resort, LED and grid power ahead of generators, realistic build times, and a CSR section in each estimate.
Frequently asked questions
What does an event production studio do for a watch or jewellery Maison?
It turns the Maison's concept into a finished event and runs it on the day. With Luxury by the Lake, that covers the site visit, technical plan, itemised budget, suppliers, permits, build, show control and wrap-up. Your studio or art direction keeps the creative lead, and we take charge of delivery, cost and timing.
Where do you work?
In Geneva, Paris and Dubai, in the winter resorts of Gstaad, St Moritz and Crans-Montana, and wherever the Maison takes us. Pieces, sets and crews leave from Geneva, where Pelichet Expositions stores sets and display cases between seasons.
Can you design the event as well as produce it?
Yes. Executive production is the usual entry point, and some Maisons ask for the full project, creative included. For those, we bring in art directors, scenographers and set dressers from our network, under one project lead who reports to you.
How do you present the budget?
As an itemised breakdown of costs, sent at the feasibility stage after the site visit and the technical plan. You see each item, decide where the money goes and receive an alert whenever a choice changes the total. Costs follow the project, so a contained event calls for a lean team.
Can you show us previous work?
Yes, as references by sector, city, format and guest count, with the Maison unnamed. Each Maison decides in writing what may be shown of its projects, and we can talk through comparable projects in a meeting, within the limits it has set.
What happens once we have sent a brief?
We come back with our questions, then visit the venue with you. A feasibility note and a first itemised budget follow, and you decide from there whether to go ahead.
We promise what we know we can deliver.
