Pop up store agency: your temporary boutique, from first plan to opening night
A temporary boutique may last a few weeks, sometimes a few days, and your clients should feel at home in your Maison the moment they step through the door. As a pop up store agency, Luxury by the Lake builds, fits out and runs that space from feasibility study to strike, in Geneva, Paris, Dubai and wherever your Maison opens its doors. You design with your studio or your creative direction; we produce. Behind us stand two partners: Pelichet Expositions in Geneva, and a production studio in Paris.

What a temporary boutique needs from us
A pop-up store asks for the trades of a full building site, compressed into a few weeks. We bring them together under one project lead:
- the venue: scouting with you, condition report, lease, build and strike hours, permits
- the set: joiners, metalworkers, upholsterers and lighting designers who build walls, window displays, presentation tables and furniture to the size of your pieces
- the technical side: light, sound, video, audiovisual integration, and interactive or automated elements where the design calls for them
- the pieces: transport and storage with Pelichet Expositions, insurance, and a joint inventory at every move
- the welcome: invitations, client and press reception, protocol, security
- on-site management: a team on site through the opening, then the strike and the hand-back of the venue as we found it
When your studio draws the boutique, we build it exactly as drawn and flag anything that needs a decision at the feasibility stage: a material, a weight, a lead time. When you would rather hand over the design as well, art directors, scenographers and set dressers from our network join the team.
When everything is right, the eye goes straight to the object.
Pop up store design agency or production studio
When a Maison arrives with a design drawn by its own studio, our work starts where the drawing ends: turning it into a technical plan, an itemised budget, a build schedule and a boutique that opens on the agreed date. For a Maison that wants the design too, we act as a pop up store design agency through the art directors and scenographers of our network, under the same project lead and with the same point of contact.
The formats we are asked for:
- The pop-up store, a boutique of a few weeks in a rented space, with its windows, its sales floor and a private salon for clients.
- The boutique opening, with the launch evening, the press welcome and the first client appointments.
- The window display and temporary installation, in a boutique or in town, built to your studio's drawings.
- The small client event, presenting a piece or a collection in the boutique's own setting.

Paris, Geneva and pop up store Dubai
In Paris, the Maisons' boutiques gather around avenue Montaigne, rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré and Place Vendôme, and the fashion calendar sets the rhythm of the year: haute couture in January and July, womenswear at the end of February and the end of September. A boutique that uses the street or dresses a façade needs the consent of the City of Paris and the Préfecture de police, with the application filed at least a month ahead. Our Paris team prepares it with you; our event production studio in Paris page covers the city.
In Geneva, rue du Rhône and the quays hold the watch and jewellery boutiques, and Watches and Wonders brings the trade to town from 5 to 11 April 2027. See our luxury event planner Geneva page.
A pop up store in Dubai can take a space in the Dubai Design District (d3) or at Alserkal Avenue, a quarter of galleries in former warehouses in Al Quoz. Depending on the format and the venue, a permit from the Department of Economy and Tourism joins the schedule. See our corporate events Dubai page.
Our standards, from brief to debrief
- Brief: what the boutique should make your clients feel, and for how long. We listen, then play it back to you in our own words.
- Feasibility and costing: site visits, technical plan, itemised budget with a CSR section.
- Preparation and delivery: suppliers, permits, build, on-site management through the opening.
- Wrap-up: budget closed, feedback gathered, archives handed to the Maison.
For a window or an installation of a few days, a single lead holds project, production and technical, and more of the budget goes to what your clients see. For a boutique that runs from build to launch night and on through several weeks of trading, a full team works for you: project, creative, production and operations, each with its lead, and one voice for the Maison. Our Luxury by the Lake page introduces the team.
A temporary boutique with a second life
Responsibility is settled at the design, costing and scheduling stage, and we apply the principles of ISO 20121. We hire rather than build where the project allows, and decide how a set will end its life when we draw it. On site, LED lighting runs on the venue's grid power in place of generators.
Between openings, furniture, windows and sets designed for several lives stay in storage with Pelichet Expositions in Geneva, ready for the next city. At strike, we sort waste on site and give away materials and furniture that can be reused. Each boutique closes with a CSR report built on your Maison's own indicators.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to open a pop-up store?
It depends first on the venue and the build. A hired or reused set goes up faster than one made in a workshop to your studio's drawings, and permits add their own lead time. We fix the schedule at the feasibility stage and tell you which decisions come first.
Can you find the space?
Yes. We scout with you, starting from the city, the district, the length of the run and the floor area you need. We check access, delivery hours, power and permits, then add the venue to the itemised budget.
Will you build our studio's drawings as they are?
Yes, exactly as drawn. At the feasibility stage we flag anything that calls for a technical or budget decision, and the decision stays with your Maison.
Can the set travel to another city?
Yes, when it is designed for several lives. It returns to Pelichet Expositions in Geneva between openings, and we adapt the technical plan to each new venue.
Who handles permits in Paris and Dubai?
We prepare the applications with you. In Paris, an installation on the street or on a façade needs the City of Paris and the Préfecture de police; in Dubai, the Department of Economy and Tourism issues permits according to the format and the venue.
How do you protect the pieces on display?
Pelichet Expositions transports and stores them, and we arrange their insurance. Every move happens under a joint inventory and supervision, and security sits in the technical plan alongside the lighting. We sign a non-disclosure agreement before anyone on our side sees the project, and no image of the build leaves without your written consent.
